Felix da Pas Garcia-Dia who is the adviser for tourism of embassy of Spain in Moscow, at press conference within the MITT-2012 exhibition declared that cancellation of a visa regime will make a great impact on inflow of tourists from Russia. He considers that the number Russia, visited Spain, can increase to 2 million a year.
On its data, the number of the visas issued to Russians increased almost by 52 % in comparison with last year, and these are about 705 thousand visas. It is important that only 3 % of tourists from Russia are confused with a visa regime of Spain.
Luis Felipe Fernandez de la Penya who is the Spanish ambassador in Russia, considers that complete cancellation of the formalities connected with a visa regime, seriously will increase the Russian tourist’s stream to Spain. The ambassador notes that Spain is interested in the Russian tourist market because this tourist’s stream promotes economic growth of the country.
Felix de Paz Garcia-Dia emphasizes that in consulate use the best efforts for simplification of conditions of issue of visas to Russians. This year the number of tourists from Russia should increase by 20-25 %. In 2011 the country was visited by about 918 thousand people that almost for 45 % it is more than in 2010.
He noted that in 2011 more than 60 % of tourists from Russia made excursions on the country that almost in 2 times more than in 2010.
