Every sixth blue flag in the world, handed over to the best beaches and harbors, will flutter in 2011 in Spain.
Blue flags as the quality certificate, got from Fund of ecological education (FEE) in 2011 of 511 Spanish beaches and 92 moorings. FEE annually since 1987 awards this award by results of testing of purity of sand and water, and also taking into account degree of equipment of beaches etc.
Experts of the organization defined 29 criteria to which there should correspond a beach or harbor. Now FEE include 72 organizations from 63 countries.
The first place on number of blue flags in Spain, as well as last year, was occupied by Galicia – its 117 beaches and 13 ports received this peculiar "the quality certificate". Valensiysky independent community, where 104 beaches and 12 ports – on the second line. Catalonia with 86 beaches both 22 ports and Baleara with 63 beaches and 22 ports take respectively the third and fourth places. Andalusia which has received 81 blue flags closes "five".
Till extent of the beaches awarded by blue flags in 2011, Andalusia (112 kilometers), on the second place – Valensiysky independent community (107 kilometers), on the third – Catalonia (83 kilometers) is in the lead. Follow Galicia (35 kilometers), Baleara (22 kilometers), Canary Islands (12 kilometers) and Murcia (6,36 kilometers).
