The Ryanair company – the largest loukoster in Europe – declared cancellation of 15 regular flights to Madrid and Barcelona. The reason – increase in July of airport collecting by the Spanish authorities.
According to the president of the Irish airline Michael O’Leary, regular transportations in this direction will be reduced by 15 flights in the next winter season (will begin at the end of October). This statement sounded at press conference with journalists in Madrid where also it was noted that airport collecting for the company increased in the airports of Barcelona and Madrid for 50 %. From 15 cancelled flights 11 fall on Madrid and 4 – to Barcelona. Besides, Ryanair reduced number of special offers by air tickets on 46 other flights (from them 24 – to Madrid and 22 – to Barcelona).
As expected, these changes will lead to reduction to 2 000 workplaces, and the passenger traffic to decrease by 2,3 million people.
